QRU?
Scan QR code data.

Every QR code holds data. It can be a link, a wifi network and password, or just text. Computers understand how to read this data but they rarely make it easy to read. Default camera apps show truncated URLs or show "Open in [app name]", obscuring the data completely.

QRU? reads QR codes and shows the data in a clean, readable format. It saves the URLs for later use, which is handy when debugging QR codes.

WORD CHECK
Verify if a word is valid in Scrabble.

On a Sunday afternoon, I was playing Scrabble with my family. I challenged a word and found that all the websites that validate Scrabble words are hard to use. They don't use official tournament dictionaries, they suggest other valid words from the letters that you input, and they're filled with ads.

After finding the official NASPA Word List and Collins Scrabble Words lists, I used React and Expo to create an app that can look up words instantly. Word Check is free with no ads and open source.

SINGLE ORIGIN
Brew specialty coffee.

Brewing pour over coffee is a ritual. It's a process that takes time and requires attention to detail. It also requires mental math and timing to pour water at the right intervals.

FEATURES
  • Pour in intervals as your coffee brews to get the perfect balance of sour, sweet, and bitter notes.
  • Every pour-over includes recipes for iced versions with an in-recipe toggle.
  • Get a notification to taste your coffee once it has cooled. Tapping the notification takes you straight to a quick rating card.
  • Add tasting notes, an overall rating, and notes to each brew.
  • Once you rate your brew, you'll see a suggestion of how to improve next time.
